I write this message with hope that everyone is healthy and safe and riding out the storm so to speak. The current situation we find ourselves in with the Coronavirus is one that all of us are struggling through. We live in the greatest country in the world and do not clearly understand the privileges we all have until our freedom to do as we please has been pretty much taken away due to the inherent risks we could be potentially putting ourselves or our loved ones in in the wake of this pandemic. One thing is certain, we are all adjusting to a lifestyle that has us all changing the way we live our lives until things go back to some sort of normalcy and we can go back to carrying on as we routinely do.

As a result, many questions have arisen from many of my customers in regards to guided flyfishing trips that we have on the books for this spring season. Always wanting to do what is right and responsible, I am taking things on a week to week basis. My current stance however is this; if we are still in a state of lockdown I will by no means be taking anyone fishing. We will have two choices to consider. I will gladly refund your deposit, or we can let it ride if your date comes and goes and we are unable to get out there as the state is still in lockdown. From all accounts, it appears those in the know have no real idea in regards to how long this will continue. Schools return dates are getting pushed back each week, many have already stated that they will not reopen this school year.

I am hopeful that all will not be lost, and this too shall pass so that we can salvage our guide season, but I simply cannot say. My mindset is hope for the best and expect the worst, as it is simply all we can do as we are in uncharted waters. One thing I do know is I will continue to accept and tie fly orders as many of you have kept me very busy this winter and spring, and it appears that you are all getting the chance to get some fresh air and spend some time on a body of water now that most states have opened up their seasons early.

My turn around times currently are very good, but as always that can change at the drop of a hat if I become flooded with orders. I will also be trickling in more household patterns into my fly store for ordering; be mindful that I tie a plethora of other flies not listed on the web-store. If there are some particular patterns you are looking for and need them tied, just send an email with the details and I can get you a quote. I wish you all well and hope this all goes away sooner than later so we can spend some time together on the water.

In the Meantime here is the latest tying video for an upcoming hatch that gets us all giddy, enjoy!
