Another year another lovefest, each year I’m taken back by the overwhelming amount of people who enjoy tying and fishing streamers as much as I do. The gathering isn’t so much about the fishing, it’s about a passion for something that many fly anglers possess; the hunt for that upper food chain fish or aggressive display of anger as it engulfs your fly.

Once again our host Steve Dally and Jim Dugan as well as everyone on the rather lengthy list affiliated with Dally‘s Ozark angler have outdone themselves with their hospitality welcoming in many of us from different locations across the United States and Canada. The gathering was great with awesome food and beverages, and the support from the flyfishing community was first rate.

This year the White river greeted us with big water, and when I say big, I mean really big.  Anywhere from 20,000 to 30,000 CFS a day depending on releases.  This left all basically having to fish through walls of water knowing that on any given cast, you could potentially tangle with a very large fish.

As expected, the days were filled with laughter resulting in a permanant six day headache or hangover depending on how you looked at it.  I was fortunate enough once again to spend my time mostly with good friends Mike Schmidt, Matt Grajewski, Nick Groves, Jason King, John McClure and let’s not forget Kelly Galloup and his trusty sidekick Dudley.  Now that I am home I am frantically digging out from the mountain of fly orders that piled up while I was away.  So here are some photos from the weekend but excuse me while I get back to work.
